Service Animal Rights & Protection
This animal is protected under federal law and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) through Veripaw.org. Veripaw is part of the nation’s largest Service Animal registry; the US National Service Animal Registration Database.
I am a disabled person and my rights as such are protected under Federal and State law. Violation of these rules of law can incur substantial penalties.
This Service Animal is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for its handler. The work or task this animal has been trained to provide is directly related to its handler's disability, which may be a physical or mental disability. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, state and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go. Only two questions may be asked of this handler: (1) is the animal a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. You cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require training documentation for the animal, or ask that the animal demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task. If you have questions concerning your legal responsibility to the bearer of this card, you should consult with the US Justice Department, your state Attorney General, or your attorney.
The handler of this Service Animal may contact [email protected] with any legal questions concerning your rights and/or responsibilities.
